Our Wild West Saw is a two-handed saw that allows you to be centered squarely behind the cut. It uses the same blade geometry as our Dovetail Saw. There are no teeth at the front of the blade and no teeth at the back of the blade. This means the saw works more like a power saw works, it moves before and after each cut. You accelerate into each cut and relax after each cut. The variable pitch (16 TPI down to 12 TPI and back out to 16 TPI) also means that you are ramping into and out of the coarsest part of the cut. The blade is .025" thick with .005" set for a working thickness of .030". Blades are replaceable and can be returned to us for sharpening ($15 sharpening fee). The biggest advantage to this saw is that the with the handles spread apart you can see the back of the saw. The back of the blade gives you a vertical reference that you can not get with a traditional saw because your hand and the handle are in the way. The two-handed approach gives you the visual clarity you need to identify a problem while you can still fix it.
