This is our top-of-the-line Joinery Saw. It includes all of the blades currently available for this saw (fine, medium and course). Do all kinds of joinery with this saw. Choose the blade that fits the kind and size of wood you are working. Our Joinery Saw uses the same blade geometry as our Wild-West Saw. There are no teeth at the front of the blade and no teeth at the back of the blade. This means the saw works more like a power saw works, it moves before and after each cut. You accelerate into each cut and relax at the end of the cut. The blades are replaceable and interchangeable.
Each blade has a finer pitch at the beginning and end with a relatively courser part in between. This means you are ramping into and out of the coarsest part of the cut. Each blade is .015" with .005" set for a kerf of .020". The finer blade (18 to 14 to 18 TPI) works well in most hardwoods up to 3/4" thick and will cut over 1 3/8" deep. The medium blade (16-12-16) works best in 3/4" to 6/4" hardwoods, and will cut over 1 5/8" deep. The courser blade (14-10-14) works best in woods that are 6/4" and over and will cut over 2 3/8" deep.
Blades can be returned to us for sharpening ($15 sharpening fee).
The handle is angled so that when your arm is level the blade is level. The handle can also be easily replaced. Just turn your own handle and transfer the hardware. This style of handle can also be easily used with two hands. Note that the blades are symmetrical and can be reversed, but they employ a western geometry, so they work best on the push stroke.
